The party secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was thrown into a joyous mood on Wednesday following the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal.
The president had in a statement by his the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, suspended Lawal over allegations of violations of law and due process made against him in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
Babachir in an interview with State House reporters after meeting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo however denied knowledge of his suspension.
But the party faithful at the headquarters of the ruling party will have none of that as they went into frenzy congratulating each other for the suspension of the SGF.
Some of the party faithful believed the SGF has stood in the way of them enjoying the government they laboured to put in place lamenting that they have been forgotten.
Babachir was the head of an eight-member Committee, set up by the president to compile names of prospective appointees into Federal Government Boards, Parastatals, and Agencies.
He has been openly accused of taking bribe as financial inducement reportedly played a huge role on who gets what in the government.
Members of the party believes the continued delay and piecemeal appointment into Boards, Parastatals, and Agencies two years into the government is a caused by the suspended SGF
