Just last weekend in Owerri, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma, on Local Govt.and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.Mrs.Rubby Emele, in a swift media chats with newsmen called on all the practicing journalists in Imo State to work in synergy with the present administration of Gov.Hope Uzodinma.
According to her, ” It is very good and even better to write or report your news for the interest of the society for the growth and development of the Imo State. As the watchdogs of the society, you are always expected to inform the general public with the real truth”.
The SA, Hon.Mrs.Rubby, while addressing the media crew who paid her an unscheduled visit at Owerri State Secretariat office, charged members of the “Guild of Imo Field Journalists, GIFJ”, led by the association’s Chairman, Comr.Kelechi Ugo, to be great ambassadors of Imo State in their reportages.
She expressed satisfaction with the heights developmental giant strides of the Governor in the 27 LGA’s of Imo State in all ramifications within months in office as Governor, even as she called on Imolites to be very patient and hopeful with the Govt.of day.
Special Adviser,Emele, in her words, encouraged Imo Journalists to partner with the 3R’s leadership policy (3R’s mantra) of the Governor.
Finally, the SA assured the masses of good governance under Gov.Uzodinma’s administration of shared prosperity .
Meanwhile, the Acting Chairman of GIFJ, Comr.Kelechi Ugo,of Egde Express Newspaper, Owerri, expressed joy to be part of the media team that visited the SA and promised that the govt.of Gov.Uzodinma under his watch as the Acting Chairman shall work in partnership.
Comr.Ugo, in his words,” We must always write on accuracy as it concerns investigative journalism and we as journalists must criticise the govt. critically.
Notable Imo based journalists present at the meeting with the SA includes:”the Secretary of GIFJ, Comr.Dan Opara aka Danjay, of Nig.Moment Newspaper/Universal Reporters, Rt.Hon.Comr.Kachy Madukaego,of Newsbreak Newspaper, member, and the current Speaker of Youths Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, Abia State Chapter, and Comr.Anselem Anokwute, of Community Watchdog Newspaper.
