Jos Bomb Blasts: President Goodluck Commiserates With Govt Of Plateau And Traders By Yakubu Busari,Jos
President Goodluck Jonathan has commiserated with people of Plateau state over the recent Jos bomb blast that rock terminus market that killed traders and destroyed properties worth million naira .
The president expressed dismay said ” government is serious with determination” of those perpetrators of insurgency in the country ,he vowed to end the killing.
The President stated this at the Plateau State Government House, yesterday while commiserating with the Victims, Good People and Government of the State over the recent unfortunate twin blasts at the Jos terminus Market.
Represented by the Minister for Water Resources Mrs. Sara Ochekpe who led the Presidential delegation, Goodluck said: “I am highly disturbed with the serious determination by the People who, continue to act badly.”
The President said he will not rest on his oars, as he is determined to see to an end of the insurgency.
“Any attack on any part of the country is seen by the Presidency as an attack on the entire country,” the President said.
He stated that his administration is determined to see to an end of the insurgency.
He said: “People should be extra vigilante in Market places, Schools and Worship centers.”
Responding, the State Deputy Governor Amb. Ignatius Longjang, who received the delegation said it was a sad moment for the People of the State.
He said: “It is sad, and if the insurgence is allow, it will continue to affect the growth development of the nation, so we need to be very vigilante.”
Longjang appreciated the media whose reports have helped in bringing Mr. President’s attention on the situation.
He further congratulated NEMA’s Director General Malam Sani Sidi, for his reappointment by President Goodluck.
In a related development the Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who was a member of the delegation said, while fielding questions from Newsmen that they have distributed consumable drug items to all the Hospitals, where there were victims for their treatments.
“We have giving to the hospitals, and if need arises we will provide more,” he added.
On the Nigerian refugees in other countries, Sidi though declined to give out figures, he said plans are on geared at returning them back to Nigeria.
“I know that there is the inter-agency committee, and are working towards that,” he added.
