The Plateau state government confirmed that the casualty figures of those who lost their lives in the Sunday night twin blasts.
In the statement released by NEMA, SEMA AND NSCDC indicates that 48 people were also injured and two Churches were torched by angry Youths predominantly Muslim worshipers.
The state government however called on citizens to remain calm assuring that government and other security agencies are making efforts to avert further break down of law and order.
In press statement issued Monday, by the Director of Press and Public affairs to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle quoted governor Lalong as saying, “we must stand together in our resolve to put an end to the current state of insecurity and we trust that the good Lord, the giver of life and the divine protector of all lovers of peace will give us the grace, wisdom and courage to conquer the challenges and stand hand in hand against the force of terror and enemies of the State.
“The Executive Governor wishes to commend the Security Agencies and the various Aid Groups for their quick intervention and wishes to direct the immediate mounting of Snap check points at appropriate areas to address peculiar security situations in the state.
“The Governor has further directed all medical institutions in the state to respond to medical situations at government expense with respect to the emergency situation at hand while appealing to all voluntary aid groups to provide the needed First Aid assistance that would save lives and property”.
