Panic and Tension grips Jos residents as mass protests took place in Jos North and Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday evening, though no life was lost, but there was burning of Jonathan’s campaign bus by irate youths.
According to the supporters of People Democratic Party, the protest was a demonstration of none acceptance of Sen. GNS. Pwajok and President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming February election.
Our correspondent that two busses belonging to the President Goodluck Jonathan campaign organisation were yesterday set ablaze in Jos, the Plateau State capital and Kanke several vehicles including PDP campaign cars heading to the central and southern districts were torched.
Our correspondent reports that the buses were stopped and set ablaze by irate youths around Mango Street and Bauchi road in Jos North Local Government Area.
The occupants of the vehicle were however set free by the youths who were chanting “bama son Jonathan” in Hausa, meaning we don’t want Jonathan.
It was revealed that the protesters blocked Bauchi road which is the main road linking Bauchi and Gombe states.
Information available to this medium showed that the driver of the bus had attracted attention of the youths when he nearly hit a young lady as a result of over speeding.
