The PDP governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Yusuf Agabi, has described President Goodluck Jonation as the ‘father of democracy’ in Nigeria.
He also congratulated Muhammadu Buhari for his victory at the poll, praying that the country should witness progress under his leadership.
Agabi spoke in Abuja, yesterday, while reacting to the action of the president in conceding defeat at the poll to Muhammadu Buhari.
He particularly praised the gesture of Jonathan in calling Buhari to congratulate him and state his best wishes to him before the official declaration of result by the INEC.
The candidate urged politicians ahead of next week’s elections to emulate Jonathan and save the country from plunging into unnecessary crises and litigations.
He called on his party faithful to ignore the victory of the APC at the presidential and National Assembly polls, advising them to face the gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls with renewed vigour, interest and determination.
He stressed the need for the people of Nasarawa State to come out, in their large numbers, to vote for the PDP, with a view to putting the state on a sustainable path of development.
He said that, if voted, his administration will work to restore peace and unity in the state.
