John Alkali Never Defect From The PDP – Group By Yakubu Busari, Jos
Arc John Alkali, contesting Plateau governorship seat has never defected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Youths leaders from 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State has said.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Jos, Chairman of Plateau Youths Advocate for John Alkali (PYAJA), Longsan Sylvanus, said that it is erroneous to mention John Alkali among defectors of the party because on no occasion has he ever identify with any political party other than the PDP. They said Alkali who is one of the founding members of the PDP and has continued to remain in the PDP, contribute immensely to the growth and development of the party.
The Secretary of PDP in Plateau State, Pam Sale last week Thursday, described Alkali, three other gubernatorial aspirant and a senatorial aspirant as being imposters, because they were yet to legally return to the party’s fold and could not aspire to any office under the name and the logo of the party.
The party asked the four governorship aspirants and former governor to Joshua Dariye to stop using the PDP identity till the pre-2015 primary elections when they may have completed the process of returning to the party.
Sylvanus said, “It is hence disheartening now to hear that such a stalwart PDP member, one who has never defected to any other party is published to be a renegade”.
Sylvanus added, “In 2007, for example, have lost in the PDP primaries, he handed over his political structures and voluntarily offered himself to work as Director of Mobilization for the incumbent Governor of the state, Jonah Jang. And since then he has been faithful to PDP and has been all supportive of the leadership of the state”.
He called on their teeming supporters to disregard the purported statement pontificated by the state secretary of the PDP, Pam Sale. And join the advocacy for the candidature of their rare leader, Alkali.
