JNI Calls For Compliance With Lockdown Order Of Govt

Yakubu Busari

The Spokesman of the Jama’atul Nasir Islam, JNI, Alh Sani Mudi has commended the measure taken by the plateau state government for total lockdown as the only step to safeguard the lives of citizens from contacting the coronavirus.

In an interview with journalists at the Plateau state Central Mosque on Friday ,in Jos North Local Government Council ,Alh Mudi appealed to Muslims umah to observe the order of government which is the only option practice across the world .

He said the stand taken by the leadership of JNI, plateau state chapter is for all Muslims faithful to imbibe the culture of discipline to comply with the directive of the government, and we see the restriction order as part of our own benefit.

According to him ,we have seen it done in other parts of the world in Mecca ,Maidina were they use the total lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus and we are also hoping that for that idea the same success would be replicated here in Nigeria .

Sani Mudi explained further that with outbreak recorded in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna state the lockdown is gradually yielding positive result so we employ people to adhere to the order if not the casualty rate would have shot higher o unimaginable proportion.

We have seen that it is for our own benefit in other part probably without the lockdown the disease would have spread faster, and JNI would follow the instruction of government so we lay our part as Muslim to join in supporting government in full.

He maintained that this is the thirds Friday which they are missing the congregational prayers and that same happen in Mecca we are not different from other Islamic world and it is not difficult to do same here in Nigeria because Islam is one body all over the world.

JNI is appealing to all Muslims faithful to make the necessary sacrifice because we have seen were prayers is been suspended due covid-19 so it base of interest to continue to confront the spread, he said.

Mudi added that the plan of fumigation of worship centres, churches, mosques, market places and schools including residential areas is the base way to tackle the pandemic so we are calling on people to accord the government maximum cooperation.

In case of urgent issues there are phone numbers for those in distress to call.
