Jittery in Nasarawa PDP, APGA As APC Won 3 Senate Seats, 2 House of Reps Seats

The outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly election in Nasarawa State if is anything to go by, then there was indication that the ruling All Progressives Congress may spring surprises to the two leading opposition political parties, the People’s Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the State ahead of the scheduled March 9th, 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections.

In the Presidential election,  the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari clinch the victory ahead of his rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PDP with a slim margin of 6, 050 votes while the three senate seats of Nasarawa South was won by the current governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

Other senate seats won with landslide victory are Nasarawa West senatorial seat won by the first executive governor, Abdullahi Adamu and the Northern senatorial zone won by Hon.Godiya Akwashiki.

The APC also won the House of Representatives seat of Awe, Doma, Keana, the seat that was occupied by Hon.Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, the running mate to the PDP governorship candidate who occupied the slut for two consecutive times.

The House of Representatives elect, Hon.Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba also clinch the seat with landslide victory against his opponents, Abubakar Idris Gani of the PDP and Emmanuel Abari of the Zenith Labour Party, a political party sponsored by the elder son to the late governor Aliyu Akwe Doma.

Hon.ruling Party also won the House of Representative seat of Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency, Hon.Abdulmumini Muhammed Ari

While the two seat of Federal House of Representatives of Karu, Kokona, Keffi was won by the current member, Hon.Jonathan Gwefi Gaza who spring surprises over his challenger, Hon.Jacob Okari Owa of the APC and the seat of Akwanga, Wamba, Nasarawa Eggon was won by a former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon.Abdulkarim Usman under the aegis of the PDP respectively.

The seat of House Representatives representing Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon was for the second time occupied by Hon.David Ombugadu of the PDP who is now contesting for the governorship of the State under the People’s Democratic Party.

The outcome is a trajectory that the ruling Party is at the vantage side to sweep the governorship and 24 House of Assembly seats in the State.and for the opposition Party more needed to be done to clinch the governorship seat and the only way out is for the Eggon one amongst majority tribe in the State has to swallow their pride by endorsing a single Eggon candidate as Labaran Maku of the APGA was Eggon from Nasarawa Eggon likewise the candidate of the PDP, David Ombugadu.

The opposition parties have to work tirelessly to take over from the APC, there was glaring indications even from the recruitment of ad-hoc staff, and Collection, and Returning and Presiding officers are mostly supporters of the ruling party.

Some of the havoc wreak on the oppositions was a planned work by the electoral umpire who were accused of collecting huge amount of money from the current State governor to perfect all the rigging process

Again there were strong indications that the security agencies are working based on directive as mobs were caught on video thump printing in favor of the party in power at St.William PU 015 as the Joint Security agencies were seen discussing.

In Doma Local Government even with the resistance of youth the ruling party connive to cancelled results of Sarkin Dawaki ward, Doka ward and part of Sabon Gari ward

Saturday Presidential and National Assembly election in Nasarawa State has come and gone but the dust raised still remains in the minds of contestants and their supporters alike whom expressed dissapointment over the conduct of the entire exercise as a total flaw.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Labaran Maku has described the election as a total flaw by the electoral umpire.

“Is unfortunate for what they called election and I’m calling on the International Organization to wade into this brazen and fraud called election”.

The Chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, Hon.Francis Orogu confided that the Presidential and National Assembly was a mere drama.

“The security, collation officers and presiding officers are working for their money “he added.

Only time shall tell.
