Jigawa To Sponsor Winner Of Quranic Recitation Competition To Study In Saudi, Sudan

The Jigawa state government says it will sponsor 10 students who emerged winners of this year’s state and National Quranic recitation Competition which was concluded last week at the state Polytechnic, Dutse where Ustaz Ibrahim Ja’afar Suleiman from Hadeji emerged the overall winner in the 60 Hizifs with Tafsir as he scored 83.6 marks to defeat his co-competitors.

The Governor of the State Badaru Abubaakr who made this known in his speech at the occasion said it was a usual practice to sponsor winners of such competition to study in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, Malaysia and other Muslim Countries of the World for degree programmers and even above.

Governor Badaru Abubakar who was represented by his deputy stated that recently the state organized and conducted the Musabaqa of Education Islamic Jurisprudence, the first of its kind in the Country noting that some states came to Jigawa to learn the concept Jigawa applied to introduce the competition in order to emulate.

He said that this indicates that his government was boosting Islamic Education, reciting of the glorious Quran and knowledge of Islam in the state and expressed government’s redness to assist any Islamic programme and then commended the efforts of the organizers, panel of Judges, participants and other clerics for conducting the competition successfully and peacefully.

Badaru then warned the winner not to relent in their efforts in ensuring that they win the first and second positions during the incoming National Quranic recitation competition to be hosted by Katsina state this year adding that the representatives of the state will be kept in camp for 28 days where they will be groom rigorously.

Malama Ummusalama Aminu from Dutse local government came first at the women category of 60 hizifs without Tafsir because no other persons competed with her in that category.

In his remarks, the Emir of Dutse Alhaji Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi advised state council of Ulama to establish a Foundation where they will raise funds with a view to reducing dependence on government during the Quranic recitation competition.

Prizes of plasma televisions, sewing machines, copies of Glorious Quran, Jincheng Motorcycles draper and shadda as well as other gifts were distributed to the winners of various categories during the occasion.
