Jigawa To Employ 4500 Teachers

The Jigawa State Government has said it is going to employ 4500 teachers, the State has been divided into nine zones to ensure qualitative education under the programme of quality assurance scheme on education.

This was contained in an interview with the Director Quality Assurance and Director General State Education Inspectorate and Monitoring Unit in the State, Alhaji Abdullahi Yunusa.

He said 2,083 schools in the State are being monitored in terms of their quality and the quality of food given to students in schools.

Yunusa further explained that their main challenge was that of COVID-19 that didn’t allow them to complete their curriculum that caused a serious setback in the educational sector in the state and the country in general.

Yunusa explained that they organised capacity building for 230 teachers to ensure quality as N3.5 million was spent in one year to train the teachers.

He explained further that over 4500 teachers have applied for teaching under the programme J teach in the state.
