Jigawa State Scholarship Board Disburses N1.6 Billion To Students

The Jigawa state scholarship board has disbursed the sum of N1.6 billion to students. This was confirmed by the Acting Secretary of the Jigawa State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Saidu Magaji who said the state government has paid bursary allowances to internal students to study at various institutions of learning in the country amounting to N914, 257,269 Million from December 2015 to date.

Giving the break down to newsmen in his office he said the government has paid 181 students of law school, their registration fee to the tune of N79, 365,000 and each of the students received an allowance of twenty thousand and a computer booklet.

He also hinted that 3407 students of Informatics Schools Kazaure, the registration fees of N385,468,366.78 have been paid.

The secretary further explained that the state also has provided scholarships for girls from primary schools to higher institutions of learning in order to enhance girl child education.

The secretary said the Jigawa State Government in total has spent the sum of N 1,661,577,296 billion on scholarships to students studying within and outside the country which includes their registration fees and allowances.
