The Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme Board say it has paid N1.215 billion to 550 retirees for the month of July 2022.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the payment in his office, in Dutse the Jigawa state capital.

He explained that the beneficiaries are categorized into four for the payment of their rights.
According to him, the first categories include 411 retired beneficiaries who have retired from the Service.
Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa added that the amount of over N920,331 million was for beneficiaries in that category.
He further explained that the second category of beneficiaries is those 100 people that have died while in service and will get the total amount of N267, 29 million.
The Executive Secretary said that the third category of 8 beneficiaries is under the death pension balance and will get N27, 952 million as their entitlement.
He said, the fourth category of beneficiaries are those who are not in service for up to five years, the board will refund 8 percent to them, amounting to N201,437 thousand as their entitlement.
Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa said the Scheme has already paid July Pension to the Pensioners to enable the to celebrate the forthcoming Sallah festivities with joy and happiness.
He also called on the beneficiaries to avoid giving bribes to anybody in the process of collecting their benefit urging them to report any of his staff that ask them for bribes.
The Pension Boss commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for his support of the Board and releasing the Pensioners entitlement at the right time.”
