Jigawa Ministry For LG Organizes Two Day Capacity Building Workshop For 27 LG Chairmen In Kano

The Jigawa State Ministry for Local Government and Association for Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON) in collaboration with a team of experts from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences  Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has commenced a Two-day Capacity Building workshop for the 27 Local Governments Chairmen and some Principal Staff of the Ministry for Local Government and ministry of finance,  as well as Local Governments Audit Jigawa state.

The event which is which took place at Bristol Palace Hotel, in Kano, is aiming at educating the participant on how to judiciously expended ecological fund grants allocated by Federal Government. 

While addressing the participants, the special guest of honor who is the commissioner for Local Government Alhaji Kabiru Hassan Sugungu pleaded with the participants on the mission of the present Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar’s led Administration of striving to meet the yearning and aspiration of the good people of the state. 

He stated that before, the fund was jointly disbursed with that of the states, but later appeals were made to the office of the Mr. President by which he later approved to allocate them directly to the local Governments account.

He called on them to attend the presentation thoroughly and ask questions on any grey area they failed to understand, as it is a Golden opportunity for them to learn how to expend the fund.

In his earlier welcome remark, the Chairman of the ALGON, Jigawa State Chapter, Also the executive Chairman Dutse Local Government, Alhaji Bala Usman Chamo who speak on behalf of the members applauded the Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the Giant Stride he made in transforming the state to the nation’s Hub of accountability, transparency, and good governance. 

The event which themed “the activities of the Local Government Ecological fund office” was presented by professor Ibrahim Baba Yaqub, Dean of Faculty of Earth and Environmental science Bayero University Kano, among other high Profile intellects.

Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Muhammad, AG. Auditor-General Local Government Audit, Director Local Government Inspection, Muhammad Yusha’u Jaji, Director Planning Research and Statistics and Director Public Works Ministry for Local Government and 27 Local Government Chairmen.
