A 57 man committee has been established by the Jigawa state government with a view to educate northern Muslims how to stop begging. The committee will plan for a workshop which is expected to hold in Jigawa by April next moth.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the committee Professor Haruna Abdullahi Birniwa saying that the occasion coming up will host over 500 of Muslim communities from various state of the federation in Jigawa.
Birniwa further stated that the forum will last for 3 days as he explained that the purposed of organizing the Islamic forum is to educate and bring awareness among the Muslim communities about the begging issues disturbing the Islamic communities.
Lamenting further he said that Islamic scholars are not doing their responsibilities in educating their followers.
Moreso, he accused leaders and parents for neglecting their children to roam around the major highways looking for alms in the street as he added that the issue of almajiri is not the best and is un-Islamic.
He added further that the issue of Alamajiranci didn’t arise Islamically as he said that even in the holy land Mecca beggars were having cover under one circumstances but is not Islamic but people has the opportunity spoil the name of Islam and good name of our country Nigeria.
