Jigawa Hisbah Command Reconcile 4,231 Cases Between Couples, Others

The Jigawa State Hisbah Command said it had reconciled 4,231cases between the couples, parents and their children, neighbours, traders, as well as farmers and herdsmen, by settling disputes among them in the last year 2021.

The Hisbah Commandant in the state, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, Garki stated this in an interview with our reporter in Dutse.

Garki said the commission was able to resolve the cases within the period under review, reconciled 3,579 couples, 41 traders, 221 parents, and their children, 319 neighbours, as well as 71 farmers and herdsmen cases in the state.

He explained that reconciliation is part of the statutory responsibilities of the command.

The commander added that reconciliation helps in conflict resolution and peace-building among people.

According to him, the command has experienced personnel, with good skills and a deep understanding of processes of mediation between disputing parties.

“I want to use this opportunity to emphasize that reconciliation is encouraged in Islam, so it is better for disputing parties to reconcile than go to court.

“Also, reconciliation is good because it saves time and waste of resources.

“Again, one is not forced to accept the outcome of any reconciliation, it is only done when the two parties agreed,” the commander said.

According to him, the major aim of the commission was to ensure that people, irrespective of gender, age, or occupation live in peace and harmony.
