Jigawa state government has expended N1.4b in the last four months to renovate schools and equip laboratories of three thousand primary schools and post-primary schools in the state
Speaking to newsmen in Dutse the state Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Dr. Lawal Yunusa Danzomo said part of the fund was expended on the construction of two and three blocks of classrooms, equipped with learning materials, as well renovation of some dilapidated schools building which was destroyed
“Our focus is to offer quality education for quality service delivery, under Education Agenda Initiatives of the present administration. This also covers the provision of teaching aids, quality teacher and learning materials”.
According to him “we have succeeded in floating effective schools with 70 percent teaching and learning apparatus. The essence of that was to allow access to education, as we de-board our boarding schools to allow for more intakes of successful students”.
He stated that with these achievements, “we are able to provide over eighty-five percent needed infrastructure in our schools”.
“Others include building and provision of laboratories equipment for our science secondary schools” he stated.
Adding that in the area of nomadic schools, “381 nomadic schools have attained 70 percent patronage operating under a conducive atmosphere, plans have reached advance stage towards the establishment of Junior and senior nomadic secondary Schools”.”
