JIBWIS Frowns At Withdrawal Of Tambuwal Security Detail By Yakubu Busari,Jos

Jama’tu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), has said that it was uncalled for that Nigeria’s security, is politicized, just as it frowned at the withdrawal  of Speaker Tambuwal security aid,  the group National Chairman Council of Ulama Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, stated yesterday in Jos.

He said if the security system of Nigeria continues to act on the basis of; “religious, political,  sectional interest, or gender discrimination, then the system has fallen.”

The cleric was speaking at the official commissioning of an office of a Vigilante group, built at Ali Kazaure ward in Jos North Local Area of Plateau State. He said: “If there is any section of the 1999, Nigerian Constitution, which stipulate, the withdrawal of security aides to any person, simply because he has different interests, to that of others in authority, I therefore; call that it should be amended, because it is a great mistake.”

Sheikh Jingir, stressed that both religious leaders wither Muslims, Christians or even none adherents of any of the two faiths, the legislators as well as businessmen and all the Nigerian masses has the fundamental human rights to be properly protected by security agencies, as enshrined in the country’s constitution, “not necessarily must we have the same interest with others.”

“In my opinion, the Nigerian soldiers, the Police, Immigration, Civil defence and all other security agencies, has the onerous responsibility of ensuring safety to lives and property of the citizens,” Jingir said.

He added that: “And therefore, any Person that is ready to join and serve as security personnel, must do away with sentiment, and also he must shun all manner of discrimination.”

According to him, peace and security are keys to the overall development of any society, state and country, stressed that in any place where there is insecurity the soldiers, police and other security personnel are usually the first victims of violence, that are either killed or injured.

He called on Government and well to do individuals of good wills to support the vigilante group in the areas of logistics, while admonishing members of the group to be law abiding by acting within the confine of law.

The event has in attendance the representatives of the commander of the Special Task Force, the Civil Defence, NDLEA, other security agencies as well as religious, political and community leaders.
