The Jasawa community of Jos North Local Government on Sunday gathered together to celebrate the appointment of Hon. Muhammad Nazifi as Commissioner for Information and Communication, Plateau State .

The occasion was a grand reception and Quranic citation of the Plateau state branch which witnessed the presence of sons and daughters of Jasawa people of Jos North Local Government Area who are   Muslim and Christian that came together in the spirit of building love and understanding among them.

Speakers at the event blast PDP government for creating ethnic, political hatred among Muslims and Christian communities in the state with their selfish and barbaric killings.

Amb. Yahaya Kwande condemned the incessant attack and killings of innocent citizens of the state by PDP led government in Nigeria.

He said the past government were not friendly to the Jasawa community by relegating them to the position of second class citizens and  denying them social amenities especially good health care ,education and roads.

According to him, sixteen years of slavery and unnecessary punishment under PDP forced them to vote APC government to better the wellbeing of their people.

Kwande reiterated further that there is need for the people of Plateau state to preach peace and love because no nation of the world can develop under the atmosphere of crisis.

He said the Hausa community sued for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria and Plateau state so that APC government can reposition the economy.

Kwande explained that the appointment of Hon. Nazifi as a Commissioner of Information is the best thing that happened to the Muslim ummah after 16 years of non participation in government activities.

Hon. Nazifi has been elevated to the highest position of authority in the political history of this great country and he wish to see more sons and daughters of Hausa community resident in Plateau state occupying higher position in government.

According to him, this opportunity has given them right to vote and be voted for during electioneering campaign across the 17 local governments.

Kwande appealed to the Berom nation to include Hausa traditional council and title holder in their traditional king makers.

He urged Muslim ummah to ensure that they are registered ahead of 2019 general elections to enable them vote leaders of their choice that will govern them.

One of the guest speakers, Alh Umaru Sani said, it is a turning point in the history of political development of Hausa community since the return of democracy where the choice of a Hausa /Fulani election was considered as a threat to the native of Plateau.

He noted that the Hausa Muslim is never a threat peaceful coexistence in Plateau state rather than a politically motivated individual who want to cause division.

The fact that appointing a Muslim man to head the Ministry of Information and Communication under Lalong government indicates that era of political cheap blackmail against the Muslim is gone.

We have been marginalised and denied opportunity to enjoy social amenities such as education, good health care and roads network by the PDP government in the past 16 years.

Sani in his paper captured the deplorable conditions of less privilege Hausa Muslim in the past 16 years as unfair treatment to fellow human being which is condemnable by God and attracts underdevelopment.

He described Governor Simon Lalong appointment as demonstration of righteousness and commitment to the service of humanity and sign of meaningful development to the people of Plateau state that have brought the sad ending to happy ending in laying solid foundation for the return of peace in the state.

The chairman organizing committee Alh Sanusi Mato appreciated Lalong for appointing one of their own Alh Muhammad Nazifi who is the choice of the Muslim community in Jos North Local Government Area.

He commended the Plateau state government for the return of peace in Plateau state and Nigeria, but condemned pockets of attack by Boko Haram in the North east.

Mato maintained that under President Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria will take rightful position in the committee of Nations and stabilize the current challenges.

He stressed further that all communities resident in Jos North should believe that they are one people with no religious differences.

The APC chieftain decried the rising number of youth restiveness and unemployment across Nigeria but solicits government intervention in job creation and empowerment of women with skills acquisition program.
