What happened to the N154m wrongly logged into Polytechnic account?

As the six months stipulated to the Acting Rector of the Isa Mustapha Agwai ! Polytechnic, Lafia comes to an end, there are indications that the headship of the institution, Ruth Jiriko may not be confirmed to steer the number one position of the Polytechnic due to some reasons especially with the new law establishing Isa Mustapha Agwai ! Polytechnic, Lafia.

It was reliably gathered that Jiriko was on Acting capacity in an institute where her academic discipline was not taught at either National Diploma level which was contrary to PART V of the new law 2019 which stipulate that the field of study of the Rector must be run as an academic programme in the school.

Insiders revealed that there was a controversy surrounding her certificate which pundits are saying she is a holder of a Ph.D. certificate in Agricultural Engineering while other sources are of the view that she was a product of Agricultural Development Economic.

This continued to generate heats and may affect her chances to be confirmed as a substantive Rector in a man dominated institution, onlookers continued to ask where she belongs to Agricultural Engineering or Agricultural Development Economic, in essence, her certificate is not relevant in Isa Mustapha Agwai! Polytechnic,Lafia.

Others are of the view

that the Governing Council, The search committee (team) should do the needful by avoiding any crook and selfish interest that may jeopardize the selection process, It authoritatively unfolded that Ruth Jiriko who was a product of a non-existing discipline in the Polytechnic was running from goal post to center to ensure that the visitor to the institution, Engr. Abdullahi Sule confirmed her position which would expire by August 13, 2020, which is few days ahead.

Feelers especially members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic,Isa Mustapha Agwai ! Polytechnic who pleaded anonymity is of the view that any abnormally committed would be a challenge at a court of competent jurisdiction by re-appointing Jiriko as a substantive Rector, a source from the Polytechnic.

says the embattled Acting Rector was cited at the abode of a high principle and close allies to Governor Sule who don’t take no for an answer to lobby for the juicy seat but the graft was turned down.

An impeccable source hinted that her saving grace was that a top management staff, Dr. Dalhatu who just to the school after completing his sabbatical from the Federal University of Lafia who knows the Polytechnic terrain and one of the candidates for the position of Rector was having a deficiency in his documents, Dr. Dalhatu Jibrin Usman, It was gathered was given the sum of N1.7m to conduct research work for the institution and after completion submitted his work for record purpose but no documentation  of such deal was recorded by the then Director Academic planning of the IMAPOLY

The preponderance of Dr.Dalhatu, the former Librarian was lack of proper documentation to include the outcome of his research work this foisted Dr.Dalhatu to write to the Governor about his predicament.

It would be recalled that the former librarian was indicted by the Chairman of the probe committee of the Polytechnic headed by the present Commissioner of Education, Fati Sabo over the swindling of N7m meant for House rent, Our investigation has shown that Dr.Dalhatu was having a running battle with the dismissed Rector Silas Gyar who changed his name from Silas Gyar to Dugagbo Runkpa to escape justice because he was never a supporter of the sharp practices they partake.

It was gathered that Dr. Dalhatu only benefited N6,000,000m for the housing allowance instead of the flat amount of N7,000,000m but was indicted for collecting N7,000,000m, It was revealed that the former librarian was sometimes clear by the recovery committee of the institution for the sum of N1.7m meant for research

but no record was found in the record of the then Director Academic planning, Dr. Dalhatu Yusha’u of the Department of Public Administration who transferred his service to the Federal University of Lafia.

feelers revealed that the chances of Dr. Dalhatu, brother to the erstwhile Minister of the environment (State) Jibrin Usman and the incumbent Sarkin Nasarawa are clear with his connection left, right and center while insiders are pointing accusing finger on the present Director Academic Planning, Dr. Ibrahim A. Dauda for orchestrating foul against Dr. Dalhatu also.

The Commissioner of Education, Hon. Fati Sabo in a telephone interview unveiled that she was not in a position of the ongoing selection exercise at IMAPOLY, This portrayed a sign of total disconnection between the institution and the Commissioner of Education, only time shall tell.

Another person qualified for the exalted position is Loius John Ogah, the current Deputy Rector Academic appointed by Governor Abdullahi Sule before the new Polytechnic law 2019 became operational, The new law gave room for the selection of two Deputy Rectors Academic and Administration

Ogah was a pioneer staff of the institution who raised to the position of Dean, He was amongst those screened out of the past exercise, he may have an upper hand in the exercise been from the academic, according to the new law establishing the Polytechnic 2019.

An unconfirmed source revealed that three candidates including the Acting Rector were shortlisted for the job.

The Chairman Governing Council as at press time rejected text messages sent to him by our reporter for confirmation.below was the text sent to the chairman Governing Council, The Emir of Karahi.
