Irigwe President Raises Alarm Over Killing Of Their Youths By Suspected Gunmen

The President of  Irigwe Youths  Development Association in Plateau state, Mr Chinge Ayuba Dodo has raised concern over threats and  re-visit and  killing of innocent members of their community by a group of suspected gunmen  after gruesome murder  three of them in a  farmland around Bonwo (Oree Dam,Kwal , Bassa Local Government Council.

In a press statement made available to our correspondent in Jos, Dodo said on 15th November,2015 five of  Irigwe youths from Bonwo ‘Oree Dam) were ambushed and killed in their farmland while harvesting maize  at Chwue-Kwall linking Dogon Gaba village.

He said those that who met their Waterloo  include, Yakubu Bari Kpasha, Tiri Bari Kpasha and Jerry Patrick which the gunmen used sophisticated weapons and killed three then injured two and other narrowly  escape with gun shots to give account of the ordeal.

The president said the two victims who escape the onslaught identified some Berom youth as , Danjuma Musa ,Dagyang Yohana while two unidentified suspect in Dogo Gaba community are on the run .

Ayuba Dodo decried that the matter was immediately reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Bassa , the DSS office and Jos South LGAs but no arrest was made  since the outbreak of violence and destruction of their farmland.

According to him, the families received the permission of the security agencies and those that were killed and have buried those killed but the culprits have been arrested to face punishment.

He stressed that security were mobilize to the scene and the neighbouring community to arrest those that carried out the dastardly act but they resisted and threaten to attack police that will come into their area.

Dodo maintained that as Irigwe people they will continue to be ambassador of peace but sued for the cooperation of government to response quick to the challenges of insecurity affected their border communities.

The Irigwe people vowed to resist any plan for expansion of territories by setting ethnic group, “we are constrained by existence laws of our country and the fact that we are believers we call for intervention to achieve permanent peace in the area.

“We are guided by good conscience and we have no reasonto divert the good intention of Lalong government and create atmosphere for war by fanning the ember of hatred but we  solicit for  mutual respect to human lives “,he noted.

“We shall continue to remain peaceful ,law abiding and promised to be supportive to government of APC  while waiting to see those perpetrators are  arrested and prosecution  by security agencies “.
