The entire youths of Irete Autonomous Community in Owerri-West LGA of Imo State of Nigeria, have successfully concluded their 2023 youth elections amidst a free, fair, and transparent exercise.
The polls which successfully took place at the multi-purpose hall of Irete Secondary Technical School on Saturday, Dec.30th, 2023, were organized, conducted, and monitored by the mandate of the 2023 IYA Electoral Committee directorship that ensured a peaceful exercise.
Shortly after the successful polls, the results of the whole exercise brought Comr. Ezichi Nshimole, the winner of the election was officially declared victorious as the President of Irete Youth Association, IYA.
For the office of the IYA President, Comr.Ezichi Nshimole, from Umuoyo village was duly elected to pilot the affairs of the youths of Irete Autonomous Community in Owerri-West LGA of Imo State.

Meanwhile, the newly elected IYA President, Comr.Ezichi Nshimole, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the exercise that enthroned him as the IYA President, even as he promised to offer quality leadership in the land.
President Ezichi, while speaking with Universal Reporters shortly after his official declaration and inauguration exercise, reeled out some of his leadership blueprints that anchored on peace, unity, and progress amongst the youths and the entire people of Irete.
Ezichi, while expressing delight, appreciated all and sundry from across the 18 villages that made up Irete Autonomous Community especially the youths (delegates) who truly participated in the election.
The Irete Youth President, Ezichi, therefore appealed to all those who contested during the election including those who didn’t emerge as winners to join those who emerged as winners to come together as one people and push on the way forward of the community mostly especially to better the living standards of the youths and the people at large.
Very commendable as the immediate past IYA President, Sir. Chibuzo Akuebionwu, KSJI, who added his voice, told this medium that he served meritoriously and ensured a successful and peaceful election exercise that brought Comr. Ezichi as IYA President, even as he wished him well.
It is clearly stated according to the constitution of IYA that the tenure shall be only for a period of three years.
Highlights of the IYA election were heights of jubilation and excitement triggered by a cross-section of Irete youths as they joyously marched around the 18 villages amidst dancing steps, as they chanted all kinds of victory songs in their large turnout in fun fare styles of jubilation for the peaceful polls.
