The National leadership of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC),has commended its Plateau State chapter of over the orderly and democratic conduct of its elections of the state executives into various positions.
IPAC head of delegations to the election Chief Dike Ognuche, who is also its National Publicity Secretary, gave the commendation soon after conducting the elections on Monday held at the Plateau State INEC Secretariat in Jos.
He said the orderly manner at which the elections were conducted gives; “democracy the desired hope for grater development in the country.”
The IPAC election which have all registered political parties in the state in attendance, produced new executive members into positions unopposed, with the exception of the position of its chairman.
The election result into the chairmanship position was won by Prince George Ndu NNPP, having polled 17 votes against Alhaji Sabiu Ibrahim ADC, who polled 3 votes.
Others are deputy Chairman Ahmad Sani PDM, Secretary Abdul Abdul CPP, Assitant Secretary Dogara Abubakar SDP, also elected unopposed are financial secretary Kingsley Kanu AA, PRO Yohana Pam AD and treasurer Danjuma Muhammad UPP.
In his response the deputy chairman Ahmad Sani who spoke on behalf of the chairman, said they appreciates all that have supported the peaceful conduct of the election.
”We appreciated all agencies that have supported us, those include INEC, security agencies and the media,” he said.
The election was observed by INEC, officials led by Mr. S. Plangy of the state headquarters of the umpire.
