The invitation of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has suffered a setback; this is due to the failure of the IGP to appear before the Senate over the arrest and detention of Senator Dino Melaye and the killings throughout the country.
It would be recalled that the Senate had on Wednesday summoned the Inspector General of Police to appear before it and address the lawmakers today being Thursday.
As learnt, the Police Chief was said to have escorted President Muhammadu Buhari on a state visit to Bauchi State.
However, the lawmakers were condemned the Police Inspector General for not officially communicating to them on why he will not appear before them today.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers have asked the appearance of the IGP be postponed to next Wednesday.
