During his visit to the Delta State Police Command a few weeks ago, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman  Baba has charged officers to be committed and professional in the discharge of their duties.  The IGP stated this in an interactive session with officers and men of Delta State Police Command in August at Asaba.

The police boss while boosting the morale of officers,  urged them to rise against all forms of crime and criminalities in the state and shun corruption while performing their statutory duties. The IGP further admonished the officers to be civil and proficient to members of the public.

In his remarks, the IGP assured officers and men of the command that the police under his leadership is doing all within its powers to boost the morale of the men in terms of better welfare and also assured all that a better insurance scheme is on top gear. Adding that the welfare of officers is a priority to his administration.

The IGP also spoke on the need for officers to key into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and take advantage of it to help get better medical care while also noting that the police will establish specialist hospitals in the six geopolitical zones to provide quality medical services to all police officers across the nation.

The IGP further encouraged officers and men to brace up and face hoodlums squarely without letting criminals harm them in line with the slogan originated by the IGP “Never Again Will The Police Allow Themselves To Be Killed, Never Again”.  He also charged officers and men to put in their best to work and be ready to preserve their lives in order to protect the country better.

In his remarks the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali appreciated the IGP for his fatherly disposition, love and care for personnel of the State, and also for the deployment of Mobile Police Force personnel for Operation Restore Peace in the State which has brought calmness and successes against crime. The CP assured the IGP that officers and men of the Command have already keyed into his policing strategies and as such the Command will continue to make him proud.
