With the ongoing security challenges particularly in the north east of Nigeria, the Internally Displaced Persons IDPs mostly  from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa who are currently taking refuge in Gombe have received donation of relieve items from a Non Governmental Organization known as Body Enhancement Foundation BEF today in Gombe.
The foundation is said to be going round the country distributing relief materials most especially to vulnerable persons and less privileged most particularly in IDP camps with an aim to relieve their pains and improve on their wellbeing.
The BEF founder Princess Modupe Ozolua, while presenting the items to the victims at State Emergency Management Agency SEMA office in Gombe, explained that such effort was targeted at women who are the most vulnerable whenever there is insecurity and insurgency in every society.
According to her, the donations which include sewing machines, sewing equipments, groundnut oil processing equipments, household, and food items would be presented  to each of the women according to their skills and area of specialization with the aim to help them establish their own businesses.
She said items would go a long way in supporting the women to be self relyant as well as provide opportunity for them to support their families and contribute to the economic growth of their various communities.

Ozolua also commnded the effort of Gombe State government for hosting the IDPs. Adding that the organisation will continue Gombe partner with the state government in assisting the victims, even as she promised that the programme would be in a continual process.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, the Executive Secretary SEMA Dr Arabs Rukuje expressed gratitude to the foundation for the support. He said the donations cameat the right time when the IDPs were moving out of the camp to settle in their various  places within the community.

According to him, the agency is currently moving away from the phase of only providing relief to the phase of rehabilitation where as it will ensure that the IDPs have comfotably settle within the community.
