Insecurity: Dankwambo Urges Ex-Service Men To Mobilise Against Terror By Kalshingi H Jedidah

As the fight against terrorism in Nigeria continues to intensify, the Executive Governor of Gombe State Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has called on ex-service men and members of the Nigerian Legion to mobilise and see themselves as a reserve force in other to assist in the tackling of security challenges in their various communities within the state.
Dankwambo while addressing members of the Nigerian Legion in Gombe during the occasion of 2014/2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day observed yesterday in Gombe said the occasion was a unique time to reflect on the sacrifices and commitment of both retired and serving military officers towards defending the unity of the country, particularly as the nation is currently facing the most difficult times in its history.
He said state government under his administration would not relent on her effort to continue to support all security agencies in the state towards maintaining peace, law and order, calling on all people in the state to live in peace and imbibe the culture of tolerance despite all diversities.
Dankwambo who donated the sum of N3.5 million for the emblem appeal fund also called on individuals and groups to donate generously for the welfare of the families of the fallen heroes, adding that, government would continue to provide maximum support to the families of those who died or sustained injuries while discharging their duties to their fatherland.

In his remarks the chairman, Nigerian Legion Gombe State Chapter, W O Ibrahim Madaki RTD explained that, the Nigerian Legion was an organisation created to promote welfare of ex-service men. He added that, the organisation has been working hard in areas of fostering comradeship among members, as well as maintenance of family and dependants of deceased members.
