INEC Accuse Of Staff Selling PVCs In Plateau By Yakubu Busari, Jos

Some communities in Barkin Ladi ,Riyom and Jos-South Local Governments of  Plateau state were accused hoarding , selling and burning of PVCs .
Plateau State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) has been accused of illicit deal plan to rig the forthcoming election in favour of PDP candidates. Following the rumour making the round that the Plateau state Independent Nation Electoral Commission (INEC) has been selling Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to some political leaders in the state, the INEC in the state debunked the insinuations, saying that, “it is not true.”
The administrative Secretary of the commission in State, Usman Bukar, denied the accusation when community leaders from Naraguta A ward in Jos visited the state office on failure of INEC to provide the community’s PVCs.
The secretary in his response to the allegation, said, “The Mai Anguwa is not responsible for the distribution of PVCs. Our staffs distribute the cards to individuals and no one is supposed to collect for another person. Therefore to our knowledge no card has been sold to anybody and we in INEC do not sell PVCs.
Bukar however called on the community leaders to remain calm assuring that INEC would do everything within its power to ensure that the cards were provided before the 8th of March 2015.
Earlier on, the community leaders said the absence of the PVCs in the community had been causing problems among the youths in the various communities even though they were making so many attempts to calm them. .

One of the delegates, Danjuma Muhammad and a former councillor of Naraguta A at the end of the meeting said they were counting on INEC to provide the PVCs, adding the members of the various in Jos would organise peaceful demonstration if INEC failed to make the PVCs Available.
