Improve Judiciary Welfare Package  Nigerian  Judges Appeal To Buhari

The Chairmen Sharia ,Area and Customary court judges Association of Nigeria (SACCJAN) have appealed to president Muhammadu Buhari to improve the deplorable state of the Nigerian judiciary for better productivity.

Speaking during the SACCJAN NEC meeting of 2016 held at the Hill Station Hotel ,Jos, the group lamented poor conditions of service and moral decay in the administration of justice and the plight of staff working in the rural courts .

In the statements the  group advocated for better conditions of service for all  judiciary workers in Nigeria.

The National PRO of the association Dr Lawal Sule Abdullahi raised concern that if the judiciary are not given the necessary attention the country is going to suffer miscarriage of justice and high level of corruption within the jurists.

He said transportation ,car loan and housing is one of their major setback, as he called  on federal ,state governments to work toward improvement of staff welfare.

The National vice president Alh Hadi Tijani and General secretary comrade Habib Ibrahim expressed sadness that the government  lacks  sincerity and honesty in coming out with policy that will benefit its citizens.

They decry further that despite the desire and enthusiasm to work and give in their best ,the judges of sharia ,area and customary court are being constrained by quite a number of challenges.

The  chairman Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) plateau state chapter,Bar Ladek Dafer  commended national NEC meeting,  which was held in Plateau state for the first time.

He advocated that record and  proceeding of the court  to be kept as  important documents for  judiciary staff to make use of the records.

Dafer condemned in its totality the manner senior jurists are using the power of bargain in settlement of  litigation in some states.He  encouraged those who have diploma to work toward improving the academic credentials so that they will occupy senior positions in their career .

Mrs Kentu disclosed that the complaint that has been brought by the Plateau state chapter indicates that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man .

“We are presenting the plight of people of Plateau state to ensure that there is improvement in the system”.
