Some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Imo State, was on Wednesday, Nov.17th 2021, took to high jubilation due to what they celebrated as power change as Imo NURTW, Hon. Comrade Sam Udeh (Ezeumuokorobia), appointed a core unionist, Comr.Okechukwu Ndubuisi (Oloye) as Chairman Tipper Branch Owerri.
Continuing, Hon.Udeh, moreso appointed two (2) other unionists: Comr. Odinaka Ijioma and Comr.Emmanuel Okwara, as Co-principal Officers in the 3-Man- Committee led by Comr.Oloye as Chairman.
As part of authenticating their offer, the Imo NURTW State Chairman, Hon.Udeh, issued an appointment letter to the Owerri Tipper Chairman, Comr.Oloye.
The appointment letter stated their duties very crystal clear which is aimed and targeted at: ” To ensuring workers are friendly disposed to members of the public, other road users especially commuters. To summon members of the branch to meetings from time to time so as to avoid all those activities capable of engendering controversies between Imo NURTW as a union and the government of Imo State”.
The letter of appointment which issued to Oloye was also copied to twosome Co-principal Officers of leaders of NURTW Tipper Branch Owerri.
Addressing the newly appointed 3-Man-Committee of Tipper Branch Owerri, the Imo NURTW State Chairman, Hon.Comr.Samuel Udeh,(Ezeumuokorobia), expressed delight to behold men whom he described as a man of valor who have their individual contributions towards the growth of the union.
Hon.Udeh, while speaking, encouraged them to always discharge their duties with a diligent and human face.
“Your appointment letter given to you is tantamount to be relinquished from you if caught in unwanted acts capable of defaming the image of the Shared Prosperity Government of Governor Hope Uzodinma.
In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Owerri Tipper Branch Chairman, Comrade Okechukwu Ndubuisi, aka Oloye, expressed joyous to be given the offer to serve, even as he stated that he must surely deliver.
Oloye, who was confirmed as the Chairman of Tipper Owerri Branch, assured quality service and promised to carry along all the union members.
Oloye, vowed not to disappoint the union and the Shared Prosperity Government.
“I am an optimistic person. I am poised to deliver with great capacity and with my team”, Oloye assured.
Highlights of the ceremony were the official handover of their letter of appointments as jubilant took to the streets of Owerri amidst the fun.
