Immigration Officials In Jigawa Rescue Nine Persons From  Human Traffickers

No fewer than nine people were rescued by the Jigawa state immigration command from human trafficking agents at Nigeria/Niger border along Kazaure Daura border road in Jigawa state.

 

The State Comptroller, Alhaji Ismail Abba Aliyu disclosed this shortly after parading the victims at the command headquarters in Dutse.

 

“According to him, the command has declared one Alhaji Ibrahim Kano as principal suspected as the human trafficking agent.

 

He further explained that, the victims which include eight from the South-West and one from north-central.

 

Alhaji Abba pointed out that they were intercepted along Kazaure Enroute Kwangolam in their onward journey to Tripoli in Libya through the Niger Republic.

 

He said the victims were six females and three males that fall within the age bracket of 20 to 29 years, of old which are from different states. In the country

 

One from Ekiti, one from Benue, one Oyo, two from Lagos, and the remaining four are from Ogun states respectively”.

 

He explained further that the Comptroller General of NIS, Muhammad Babandede has directed the command to hand over the victims to NAPTIP.

 

He also advised parents and the general public to always desist from being deceived into sending their children abroad for greener pasture.
