‘I’m Sick, Under Spiritual Attack’ – Portable Speaks On Why He Ignored Police Invitation

Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, aka Portable, has reacted to a publication by the Ogun State Police command declaring him wanted for alleged assaults.

Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun police command, said on Monday that the singer was declared wanted for repeatedly ignoring multiple formal invitations.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Portable claimed he had been unwell and feared being detained, which led him to ignore the police invitation.

He insisted he had done nothing wrong and pleaded for forgiveness from the Ogun government.

“They set me up with the government. I didn’t have any issue with the police. I am not a criminal, I was sick and scared,” he said.

“I do not want to die young. I do not want them to lock me up, I did not do anything bad. I’m human, I am not perfect. If I wronged you, I am sorry.”

In another post, the singer shared a photo of a scar on his body, saying he had been hospitalized due to persistent pain.

He described his struggles as a “spiritual attack” and sought divine assistance.

“All this evil thing wey dey happen to me na spiritual attack. God save me. I’m facing a lot of sicknesses all over my body. I’m m taking care of myself. Pain in my body. Make Ogun State government forgive me,” he wrote.

“Na hospital I dey all these days. God please because of my children do not let my enemy shame me. Pain will go, joy go come.”

The controversy began on February 5 when officials from the Ogun state planning and development permit authority (OGPDPA) attempted to seal Portable’s bar due to a lack of approved permits and insufficient air space.

However, the singer allegedly assaulted the officials during the process.

The altercation led to the arrest and arraignment of nine of Portable’s associates on a five-count charge, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill.

They were granted bail of N5 million each with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government.

The case was adjourned until March 17 for further hearing.
