The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly,Hon.Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura said he was delighted with the slow pace of work on Kwandare-Keffi new road project conceived by the former Governor,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
The Deputy Speaker who doubles as the Chairman House committee on project monitoring gave the disclosure during an interview at the Assembly.
Hon.Dandaura maintained that as an indigene of Akwanga Local Government and the number four citizen in Nasarawa State is happy with the pace of Kwandare-Keffi 62km road.
He asserted that the construction and completion of the road would disconnect Akwanga from the rest of the world because travelers would prefer to use the shortest road.
Hon.Nehemiah said the new road if completed would undermine the development of Akwanga, which he said is not happy with the development.
The Chairman House committee on project monitoring appreciates the Governor, Abdullahi Sule for completing vast of the projects conceived by past Governor.
“Governor Sule completed the new Umaru Tanko Al-Makura presidential lodge,Aliyu Akwe Doma Banqueth hall and many school projects” He stated.
He expressed contentment over the ongoing projects under Governor Abdullahi Sule
“If not the dualization of Abuja-Akwanga-Lafia and Makurdi road by President Muhammadu Buhari,the new road would have sidelined us”.
Deputy Speaker commended President Buhari for awarding the contract for the dualization of Keffi-Akwanga-Makurdi road.
It would be recalled that Governor Sule during the award of the project which cost the State Government a whopping N6.2bn under the immediate past Governor,Al-Makura.
The former Governor promised that the project would be completed before the expiration of his tenure on May,29th 2020.
