IGP Presents N4.2 Million  To Families Of Deceased Officers In Zamfara

The Commissioner, Zamfara State Police Command, Ayuba N. Elkanah, representing the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has presented cheques worth N4.2 million to the next of kins of seven deceased Police Officers who died while in active service.

The Presentation of the cheques is part of the IGP’s family insurance welfare scheme to the families of deceased Police Officers.

The Commissioner of Police, while presenting the cheques, appreciated Baba for the gesture and described it as timely and that will go a long way in alleviating the suffering faced by families of deceased Police Officers.

Elkanah assured the IGP that Officers and Men of the Command will continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.

He charged the beneficiaries to utilise the money judiciously, noting that in the last five months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police seven times and presented same to the beneficiaries.

This will serve as morale booster to the serving members of the force to continue to discharge their duty effectively, he said.

One of the benefiting families, Gloria Hussaini, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked Baba for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
