IGP Gave January 1st 2016 As Deadline For Spy Police To Stop Wearing Police Uniform

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase fdc, NPM has directed Companies using Supernumerary Police (SPY) nationwide to stop the use of Police uniform for their operations on or before 1st January, 2016.

The IGP gave this directive today, at a meeting with Security Managers of Companies using SPY Police for their internal security.

He noted this measure being part of his administration’s renewed crime fighting strategy, is aimed at curtailing the activities of criminally minded persons who disguise in police uniform to perpetuate their nefarious activities.

However, he has approved the use of a newly designed grey and black trouser as the new uniform to be worn by spy police officers nationwide.
