The President General of Igbo Cultural Welfare Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Chapter, PGICWA, Chief Christian Mgbadike Nwogbo has raised hopes that the Ndi Igbo still has the numerical strength of clinching the next president of Nigeria, as they appeal to other geopolitical zones to support Dr. Peter Obi candidate for president in 2023.
He condemned the unholy act of religious fanaticism in Nigeria by calling on the federal government to introduce religious orientation training and enlightenment to religious leaders to stop promoting parochial interest and sentiment in their worship.
Nwogbo made this known at the Igbo’s cultural Welfare Association Secretariat in Jos North LGA, No T8 Idika street, Jenta Jos during its general meeting.
The meeting harped that Nigeria is a circular state where everybody is allowed to worship his or her own religion whether traditional, Islamic, or Christianity. Nigerians must learn to accommodate each other differences if we progress together as one indivisible entity, he said.
Chief Christian frowned at the incessant attacks and killing of innocent citizens in Nigeria as unacceptable, saying nobody has the monopoly on violence what happen in Shehu Shagari Polytechnic in Sokoto is unfortunate.
The Igbo explained further that, “we are appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to provide a secure network to all the tertiary institutions, as he condemned the act as unholy and that religious leaders need total orientation to be educated on how to live in peaceful coexistence with one another, Chief Christian lamented.
According to him, the killing of a pregnant woman and her children in the East is not the culture of Igbo but a taboo for a fellow man to kill another which all the Igbo described as sacrilege.
We the Igbo across the 19 Northern states condemn the act and described it as an abomination to the Igbos, we stand to condole with the immediate family by calling on security agencies to get to the root cause of the matter and apprehend those culprits.
Speaking of blasphemy in Bauchi, Sokoto, and the Abuja attack where properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed, Chief Christian Nwogbo condemns that it is not only the Igbo that is affected, but we also have precarious security challenges in this country that are affecting everyone.
He advocated that security agencies be deployed to all strategic locations of marketplaces to avert incessant attacks and destruction of lives and properties of people transacting their daily businesses.
Adding, most of the attacks are carryout by hoodlums just to loot properties of people the one they can’t loot they set it a blade.
In this forthcoming general election, Nwogbo advised the Igbo that they should not put their eggs into one basket because they have the numerical strength to govern Nigeria . The Igbo have a voice and we are consulting with other geopolitical zones to ensure a hitch-free success.
He revealed that due to the wider consultation with others, Nyesom Wike poll above 200 votes so we urge politicians to come together and work toward strengthening the unity of Nigeria.
