The All Progressive Congress (APC) , a stalwart in Jos North Local Government Council,Hon. Godwin Okpara has disclosed that the Igbo community in Jos North /Bassa Federal constituency didn’t endorse a sole candidate for the forthcoming bye-election scheduled to hold on 26th February 2022.

Okpara stated this in an exclusive interview in Jos, to debunk the allegations making rounds that the Igbo community had concluded arrangement to vote the PDP candidate as untrue and a baseless insinuation to create hatred between Igbo and the APC.

According to him, “I want to put the records straight that Igbo’s hasn’t endorsed any candidate for this bye-election, because since the year 2015 the Igbo’s people have been enjoying more in the APC.

However, he cautioned any political detractors to desist from making inflammatory comments that is capable of causing confusion, we gain dominance in councillorship position in  vandepour ,Kabong ,Jenta Apata , board members SSAs, supervisory councilors under the Lalong regime.

He reiterated that the major problem, why some people felt Igbo don’t come out during the election in Jos North LGA is not right, most of their houses have been turned into plazas and the occupants relocated to different parts of Jos, while some built their own personal accommodation and move in.

Okpara revealed that from what I observed in the last five years ago Igbo have a very cordial working relationship with the indigene which gave room for expansion of settlements within and outside the state capital because of the influx of the Igbo from the far north  “.

He said some of them when they arrived Jos capital and see that the place is so peaceful they decided to own houses here so to me we have benefited a lot under the APC government.

Godwin Okpara applauded the Jos North LGA, Chairman Hon. Usman Shehu Bala during the palliative distribution the Igbo community enjoys the largest share when they confronted the council chairman,he only smiled indicating that he love the Igbo.

Okpara maintained that if any group wants to benefit from the APC let them come out and join the mainstream activities of the APC from LG to the state level and party doors are wide open for those that are willing to join the membership.

He called on APC to come out and vote on Saturday and ensure that the party clinches the seat.
