In a recorded audio phone call to a journalist in Adamawa State, a friend to the Executive Governor of the state, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has vowed to kill a correspondent with the Nigerian Tribune, Mr. Tom Garba.
Steven Maduwa, a close associate of Governor Fintiri promised to make life unpleasant by giving Mr. Garba death threat if he dares writes anything good or bad on the Governor.

On the audio, Steven, who interchangeably spoke both in English and Hausa languages, vowed and said ”Zan Yanka ka”, meaning to slaughter the Journalist.
According to him on the audio, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna has a Muslim/Muslim ticket and asked the journalist what did he ever write.
He said: “Tom kaji ni wallahi, wallahi I will physically attack you. Dan Ubanka (insults) kana nan Kaduna da El-Rufai yayi Muslim/Muslim ticket, me kayi? Na rantse maka (swearing) zan yanka ka (I’ll slaughter you).
Mr. Garba suspects the threats is connected to a story he published 9th June, 2019, where one Steven Adamu is trying to draw the attention of the government to have balanced appointments between the two major religions.
