IBB Bags Nigeria Institute of Postgraduate Medical College Award By Abdullba’aqi U Ebbo

Former Nigerian President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has been conferred with the prestigious honorary fellowship award from the National Institute Of Postgraduate Medical College Of Nigeria in Badagry area of Lagos State in his uphill resident in Minna recently.

According to the college President and leader of the team, Professor Rasheed Arogundade the award was approved for General Babangida since September 1989, but the management of the institute could not reach the recipient until this year due to logistics problem from both ends.

Professor Rasheed stated that former president Babangida was awarded the fellowship award In View of his tremendous contributions towards healthcare delivery during his tenure as the president of Nigeria, adding that throughout his tenure as the president  health workers in all aspects had never gone on strike due to special attention he paid to the sector.

Responding, President Babangida expressed his appreciation to the management of the college for considering him fit to be given such honor. He assured the visiting management team he is still at their service when ever the need arises.

Professor Arogundede was accompanied to deliver the award by Professor Oluwole Atoyebi, college Registrar, Dr Oyenike Ezekezie, college Deputy Registrar(Admin), Dr Amina Shamaki, Permanent secretary(special Duties) office of the head of service of the federation, Dr Hassan Abdullahi, Director SGF office and other top management staffs of the college.
