I Will Change The Narrative-New Speaker Youth Assembly

The new Speaker of Nasarawa State Chapter of Youth Assembly, Comrade Habiba Umar Iliyasu has promised to change the narrative.

Habiba gave a hint during an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters at the venue of the election of executives of the fourth Assembly held at KMK Luxury Hotel Lafia.

The Speaker reeled out her seven-point agenda to include promoting entrepreneurship, Job Creation, Skills Acquisition, Issues to tackle insecurity, Agriculture, Youth inclusiveness, and others.

Saying she did not belong to the school of thought that says, “What a man can do, A woman can do better, rather I will do more”.

Comrade Habiba Umar Iliyasu thanked the First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule for being supportive at all times and appreciating her for empowering women and youth in the State.

Fellow youth leaders, esteemed guests, and fellow citizens of Nasarawa State,

I, Rt Hon Habiba Umar Iliyasu, stand before you today, humbled and honored to accept the mantle of leadership as the first female Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to those who have supported me on this journey. First and foremost, I want to thank Her Excellency, the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajia Silifat Alhaji Sule, for her support, guidance, and encouragement. Your leadership and dedication to empowering women and youth in Nasarawa State are truly inspiring, and I am grateful for your trust in me.

I also want to thank other relevant stakeholders who have supported me, including Rt Hon Shuaibu Sani , SSA to Youth and Students Affairs, for his guidance and mentorship. Your wisdom and leadership have shown me the way, and I am forever grateful.

To my parents, thank you for your prayers, love, and encouragement. Your blessings have been my strength, and I am proud to make you proud today.

To my husband, Comrade M D Abdullahi Abeson, your love and support mean the world to me. Thank you for being my rock, my partner, and my best friend. I love you.

To my capacity, workaholic campaign DG my brother Comrade Bawa Kyune Rinze, I say a very big thank you for all your sacrifice.

To the APC Vibrant Women leader, thank you for your support and encouragement. Your dedication to empowering women in politics is inspiring, and I am honored to be part of this movement.

To my friends and supporters, thank you for believing in me and standing by me throughout this journey. Your kindness, advice, and encouragement have made a significant difference in my life.

I would also like to take this opportunity to announce my appointees, who will work with me to achieve our goals. Yahya Sadauki will serve as my Chief of Staff, Maryam El-Abari will serve as my Chief Press Secretary, and Usman Isa will serve as my Special Adviser on Special Duties I have every confidence in their abilities and look forward to working with them.

To my fellow youth leaders, I promise to listen, to collaborate, and to amplify your voices. Together, we will tackle the challenges facing our generation and create opportunities for growth, development, and prosperity.

Let us embark on this journey with hope, optimism, and determination. Let us show the world what we are capable of achieving when we work together towards a common goal.

The National Speaker Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Comrade Shuaibu Sani in an interview shortly after the election lauded all those who contested and lost for the show of maturity and exuberance in embracing the outcome of the election.

Describing the election as one of the best-contested elections in the history of election of Youth Assembly.

“What transpired here today is a show of patriotism and a clear indication of a win-win election devoid of rancor and acrimony”.

He commended Nasarawa State Youth for being up and doing at all times.

The representative of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, The Director of Youth Development, Jonathan Gabu lauded the contestants especially winners and losers for embracing all.

The contestants seeking for various positions promised to work within the confines of the law of the Youth Assembly.

The National Returning Officer for the election of State Ambassador, Isaac Umar Aliyu described the election as free, fair, and credible.

The Speaker Youth Assembly announced some appointees, including Yahya Sadauki as Chief of Staff, Maryam El-Abari as Chief Press Secretary, and  Usman Isa as Special Adviser on Special Duties.

Other winners of the election are Ovey Abimiku as Ambassador, Awal Ibrahim Dangana as Chief clerk,

Deputy Chief Clerk Shedrack Otsoma, Ibrahim Sadeeq as Deputy Majority Leader, Docas Jarume as Minority Leader, Samaila Abdullahi  as the majority Leader,

Emmanuel Danjuma as Deputy Speaker.

In a related development, The National Speaker Youth Assembly, Comrade Shuaibu Sani also made some notable appointments as compensation to others who lost the election.
