519Senator Arch. Husseini Egyegbola (APC), Senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial district of Nasarawa state has stated that there is no rift between the state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura and him over senate seat come 2019.

The chairman House committee on federal character gave the indication in an interview with Journalists at Government House Lafia during the inauguration of commissioners; He described the unfolding ahead of 2019 as untrue.

“The relationship between the two of us is cordial ,saying year 2019 is still far to speak about me contesting with the Governor or in disarray”, I remain loyal to the party and Governor Al-Makura ,You don’t cross a bridge until you come it, Said senator Egyegbola.

But political analyst are of the view that there may be political skirmishes between the state Governor who is completing his second term of office which would expires by 29th May,2019 ,And for the first time Egyegbola is going to be a tough outing contesting with a sitting Governor.

There is strong indication that the fight to save the soul of people in Nasarawa South senatorial seat would be a fight to finish, the current Governor maybe at the vintage position to clinch the senate seat because of his financial background.

Another ground was that the Governor may use party executives to vote him during party primaries, while the incumbent senator may gain sympathy from his kinsmen (Alago) who constitute the majority in Nasarawa south senatorial zone, Politics of tribalism and religion has gain more ground in Nasarawa politics with the current crop of political office holders in the state.
