I Am Waiting To Be Sworn-In; The Election Tribunal Will Vindicate Me -Barr. Ayuba Burki

The  People Democratic Party ,PDP, candidate of Mangu Local Government Area ,Hon Ayuba Burki has said the party boycotted the rerun with  no reason to doubt the chief Judge who has set Election Tribunal to investigate the outcome of 10th October, 2019 election, as he  waiting to be sworn-in so as to regain  his stolen mandate by the APC government.

 

Addressing a session of the media at the Beautiful Gate Foundation in Jos, he lamented that the October ,2019 LGAs poll was described as the most peaceful after the election until when things started changing with the killing of the returning officer in one of the ward in Kantoma.

 

I was very happy with the conduct, especially with the arrival of the voting materials which came to various polling units earlier in time, he said between 5 pm when results had been declared, we started sensing trouble in some polling units when the opposition party knew they are going to lose, he explained.

 

We had concluded election in all the polling units, we even move straight to wards and lastly to Local Government collection centres where PLASIEC immediately doctored result and announced fake results by declaring the APC candidate who lost as the winner.

 

Burki lamented that the PLASIEC scheduled to announced result in all the local Government’ headquarters but to my surprise we had on radio that they have already announced the winner without the final consultation with EOs.

 

He revealed that the election was conclusive so we urge our people to boycott the exercise because there was peaceful and the election went on peaceful without any hitches so to me that rerun conducted on Thursday in two polling units was illegal and we condemn it as kangaroo.

 

According to him, the election as PLASIEC refused to released was greet with massive protest ,even when my people gave me their mandate and I am prepare to take up a legal process to reclaim our stolen mandate .

 

The protesters force the Governor Simon Lalong to be flown on helicopter while his entourage had to go through bushes to escape the anger of voters to return to Jos, with this we are heading vto tribunal and normal court to battle for the voice of our people, he added.

 

Barr. Ayuba Burki reiterated that voting start truly and simultaneous across the polling units, when some gunmen attack Kantoma and killed one member of the community.

 

However, about 229 polling units were declared at the most peaceful after the election in Mangu including the councilors had already been move and declared at the collection centres in Mangu local government.

 

Barr Ayuba cautioned that 12 of the councilors had been declared winners in their wards; he commended Dr Stephen Hirse for resigning at the PLASIEC commissioner of planning which I know him as a man of integrity for him to defense the cause of the youth and remain firm in taking the decision.
