The Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has debunked the speculations that he is out of APC Presidential Primary Election Contest for Rotimi Amechi.
The governor stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in his office. He explained that he picked the APC Presidential nomination form to join the race in order to serve the country at the highest level.
The governor noted that the media report misquoted him because what he exactly said is ” there is no contest between me and my friend the immediate former Minister of transport Mr. Rotimi Amechi.”
” I said and I repeated it, me and Amechi are APC family members and also belong to President Muhammad Buhari’s school of thought, I and him joined hands with others for the APC success in 2015 and 2019″
” So if our father Muhammad Buhari asked me to step down for Amechi I will not be hesitant to do so and equally if he asked him to step down for me, I am sure he will do so”
“Therefore I am informing the APC delegates and all party members that I am still in the race for APC Presidential ticket for the 2023 general election ” Governor Badaru declared
“All the delegates know me, they know my track record and they know what I can do, I am not new to them and they are not new to me”
He also assured the party delegates he has all it takes to make the party sustain the power beyond 2023 if given the ticket.
