How Shehu Jatau, Invaded Jawuri, Boltak, Kill 11 Persons, Made  Away With Foodstuffs, Motorbikes -Chief Philip Domchak

A continuation of hearing on the suit on manslaughters, Culpable homicide, killings of innocent lives and Properties of Tarok speaking native of  Kadarko District of Wase Local Government Council, the Village head of Jawuri Chief Philip Domchak has narrated his ordeals before Justice S.P Gang how they residents of Boltak, Jawuri lost valuables to the dreaded Shehu Jatau and his boys.

 

While on cross-examination of the  Village head of Jawuri by the defense counsel, Prof S.S.Shikyil, SAN, on what happens to his subjects following the series of attacks which Shehu launched on them, he said; “I have made a statement at CID office in Jos reporting the ugly incidents where lives and properties were lost, it is very sad experienced that I never wish someone should go through it, my lord, our blood brothers massacred, murdered us without any provocation.

Mr. Philip Domchak identified Shehu Jatau and Nanjul Isah as culprits behind the dastardly act sometimes in 2016, they attacked Boltak a settlement under Jawuri and we recorded so many casualties with encroachment to the natives land.

 

The chief Domchak explained that the residents of Tarok in Boltak overcrowded his home as well as trooping into Jawuri where both women and children were scrambling for safety and I then, asked them what is going on, they narrated that they woke up seeing heavily armed men suspected to have been led by Shehu Jatau with weapons.

 

They told me that Shehu Jatau and his boys invaded Boltak burning their homes and carting away animals including foodstuffs and many were killed and no single soul was spared during the onslaught.

 

However, Shehu Jatau led his clan to occupy houses at   Boltak, Jawuri town, and, I, Chief Philip Domchak never believe that until I rushed to the scene to confirm by myself what they were telling me.

 

Domchak reported the incident before the Divisional Police Headquarters of Wase LGA where the DPO went with us to witness the magnitude of damages done and due to the dangerous weapons to use the security personnel were afraid to invite the accused persons for questioning.

 

He said Shehu Jatau and Nanjul Isah, form a camp in Boltak, Jawuri to be used in terrorizing people so we left the Boltak, Jawuri with our families to escape being killed since 2016, the two towns have become ghost town owning to the level of destruction and maiming of Tarok peopple in Boltak, Jawuri.

 

Domchak told the court that Shehu Jatau and boys encroached in their farmlands molesting, harassing by killing 11 people instantly, we have been reporting the incident to security agents several times but no action was taken to stop him.

 

He pointed out that when they approached an Area Court sitting in Langtang North LGA, then the worst happened where the bailiff was attacked and brutalized by Shehu Jatau and shunned the invitation of the court.

 

Philip Domchak added that when Shehu Jatau invaded, Jawuri at least no fewer than 60 motorbikes were carted away, animals, foodstuffs worth millions of naira some burnt down, while they took over 150 bags of assorted grains of maize, rice, corn.

 

The Second witness, PW6 Mr. Lohfa Daniel who is a resident of Wadata Kasuwa said, he acknowledged knowing Shehu Jatau and Nanjul Isah on July 03, 2019, arrived at the palace of Ponzhi,wadata Kasuwa, Chief Domnan Vongjen whose compound was destroyed including his own on Wednesday.

 

He stressed that Shehu Jatau came to the palace to warn,Domnan Vongjen that he threatened to arrest Nanjul Isah that attempt the entire community won’t have peace for the rest of their life.

 

He noted that Shehu was well armed with dangerous weapons that scare security personnel and even chase away traders to vacate business of the day, before 6 pm Shehu Jatau return heavy shooting and destruction.

 

Meanwhile, the PW7_Nannim Luka told the court that Shehu Jatau and the boys attack him more than 4 times, and the last one they inflicted injuries on his son, Jinan Nannim, and I  escape to Langton.

 

Justice S.P. Gang has adjourned the suit to 24th March 2021 for the continuation of taking more witnesses.

 

The prosecution counsel told the court that he had 4 additional witnesses but he has a fresh application seeking the court to increase the numbers of his witness as the matter proceeds, My Lord more revolution is coming to add them.
