The Former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ibrahim Mantu has frowned at the leadership of Hon Damishi Sango for causing crisis in state People Democratic Party, PDP, State chapter.
Our correspondent gathered that the former Deputy Senate President berated Sango and saved Plateau PDP from further litigation and embarrassment at the recently held national PDP convention in Abuja.
An insider who pleaded anonymity confirmed in a report that the Hon Badung Pam faction had approach a federal high court for an order, restraining DT Sango Faction from participating in the convention and further parading themself as state chapter executives of PDP, pending the determination of the suit file by the Damishi Sango group.
When leaders of the party got wind of the action, several calls were made to Hon Badung Pam group, through some elders across the state, urging the group to shelve their action and come for dialogue for a way forward for the party.
Their calls were said to have proved abortive as it were never answered, it took the intervention of the former Deputy Senate president Alh Ibrahim N Mantu, who had to call some members of the Hon Badung faction to Abuja, three days to the national convention, before a temporary understanding was achieved and the court process were withdrawn.
Reliable source said some members of the Badung group were fixed into ad-hoc convention committee to appease the group.
It would be recalled that the matter came up on the 27th November, 2017 at the JMDB court in Jos and presided over by Justice Parbong and was further adjourned to 30th January, 2018 to enable Damishi Sango faction produced witness in court for the ongoing trial against the Hon Badung faction.
The coming days may be very interesting, especially with the buildup to LGA elections in plateau state, is Plateau PDP shooting itself on their foot? Why the court cases now? to what importance is the court action? These are questions many observers and supporters of the once ruling party keep asking in this recent times.
