Nwanguma stated: “You can’t be talking about police corruption when you’re owing them money due to them.

“We call for the payment of arrears of salaries of police officers.

“We call for radical improvement in police welfare, as a means of humanising the police and checking corruption.

“Apart from owing them arrears of salaries, some officers, after being promoted, continued to be paid salaries based on their previous rank for about six months.

“Some people in the system are pocketing the money due to these officers.
