How Plateau APC’s Chairman, Dabang Allegedly Embezzled N75 Million MDGs Contract

Yakubu Busari

In his quest to contest for the position of Senate for Plateau Central come 2019, the APC chairman in Plateau State, Latep Dabang universalreporters247.com has learnt is allegedly virtually involved in corrupt acts mentioned in the State, all in a bid to acquire money for his Senatorial bid come 2019.

As gathered by this medium, the APC Chairman has been blamed for everything within the party for hijacking and creating crisis, as well as perpetrating corruption in the state, as he is alleged to have been forcing council chairmen to siphons funds for him.

Information available to this medium also shows that some group of concern executive Committee members of the APC in Plateau State have raised concerns and accused the State chairman, Letep Dabang, of monopolizing the party.

Our correspondent gathered from the members that Dabang allegedly misused about N75 million contracts awarded to the party through Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

In a letter written to Governor Simon Bako Lalong, jointly signed by the APC’s state Secretary, Alhaji Musa Saty, Publicity Secretary, Chindo F. Fahat and 16 others, the officials alleged that all appointments in the party were done single handedly by Dabang; without consulting the State Working Committee (SWC) or the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party.

The letter also stated that the party chair had allegedly personalized all activities of the party at the state level that were supposed to be carried out by the officers concerned.

It also stated that the local government management committee of the 17 LGAs were single handedly appointed by him to generate enough funds for his 2019  senatorial ambition of Plateau Central District in 2019.

The embattled chairman did not pick several calls put to him, neither did he respond to a text message sent to him.
