How Nine Person Were Killed by Unknown Gunmen In Doma Nasarawa-Ekye Overseer

Nine persons have been confirmed dead in Ajimaka Community of Ekye Development Area of Nasarawa State.

The Overseer, Bello Akoza confirmed this at the Doma Police station.

 

It was gathered that Fulani herders are responsible for the Killing of nine Tiv in Ajimaka.

The Overseer Ekye Development Area, Bello Akoza confirmed that nine persons were killed by gunmen identified as Fulani herders in Ajimaka Community.

 

He disclosed this during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at the Government House, Lafis.

 

Akoza further maintained that the unabated killings have escalated to Ankoma, part of Rukubi with Internally Displaced Persons taking refuge in Rukubi Community.

 

The Overseer in addition says there were reported cases of gunshots and sporadic attacks in Idadu and Agbashi and the Fulani herders are taking advantage of some of the hard-to go Communities that are prone to attacks.

 

Calling on the neighboring Communities to remain calm at all times, Speaking with Journalists, Hon. Bello Akoza said since the first day of the attack in Ajimaka scores of Soldiers have been deployed to quell the situation.

 

He commended the timely intervention of the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for taking a decisive measure in the crisis-stricken Communities to save lives and properties.

 

Calling on people to remain calm in their place of abode, adding that the State Government is on top of the ugly situation.

 

Bello Akoza further pleaded with the people of the affected communities not to take vengeance as the solution to the Killing of nine Tivs including underage.

The President of Tiv Development Association, Comrade Peter Ahemba has called on Tiv nation in Nasarawa State to remain calm.

 

The President disclosed this during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at the Government House.

 

Ahemba who described peace as a panacea for peaceful co-existence urged his people to be law-abiding citizens despite the killings.

 

“We have only one state which is Nasarawa State and we will remain in the state”.

 

He admonished indigenes of the state to remain in Nasarawa State and avoid an unnecessary mass exodus

to neighboring Benue State.

 

He in addition said the unnecessary exodus ignited tension and reprisal attack on Fulani herders would worsen the fragile peace experience in the Communities.

 

The state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has strongly condemned the gruesome massacre of Tiv by unknown gunmen in Ajimaka Community of Doma Local Government Council.

 

The Governor described the brutal killings as ungodly killings of innocent people, adding that the attackers are callous and inexcusable.

 

“An attack that did not spare women and children is devilish and uncalled for”.

 

Engineer Abdullahi Sule said security has commenced an investigation that will expose those behind the attack.
