No fewer than 350 cows and 60 heads of sheep have been allegedly rustled by suspected Irigwe armed militias of Riyom and, Bassa Local Government Areas of Plateau state on Monday, according to Miyetti Allah Plateau State chapter.

They said (the alleged militias cross carpeted from Bassa to Riyom) as Miyetti Allah also added that security information from the headquarters of operation safe heaven (OPSH), just before going to press, reveals that some of the cows were recovered, but are yet to be handed over to them.

The Chairman Miyyetti Allah cattle Breeders Association  of Nigeria,  Plateau state chapter,  Muhammad Nuru Abdullah in statement made available to this medium warned the perpetrators of the crime to return back their cows for peace to reign.

Alhaji Mohammed says: “We are very sad with the information reaching us from our branche offices in Bassa and Riyom LGAs that cows ,sheep were rustled and a years old boy beaten to coma.”

Alhaji Mohammed said that the Irigwe youth militias armed with sophisticated fire arms, had on Monday 15th January, 2018 in Bassa LGA, attacked Fulani cattle rearers around Gidan Ado village in Ganawuri district of Riyom LGA.

He explained that the attackers beat up a boy to coma and about 150 cows were rustled which he said belongs to Fulani.

It was security reports that reveal how some of the cows were found dead on the way around Mai Yanga village. On the same Monday night the Irigwe killers re-attacked Fulani residence at Dangwal village in Ganawuri of Riyom and stole about 200 cows.

According to him, this incident happened without any provocation or intimidation. It also took place when the area is recovering from the past ugly experience that consumed a lot of innocent lives and properties.

“It would be recalled that  as a result of last attack, killing and alleged beheading of a Fulani boy known as Abubakar Wada it sparked up fresh killings in Irigwe land “,he explained.

The incident that happened on the 28th August, 2017, sparked up and led to a major violence.

Therefore, we condemn in totality the act of criminal conspiracy with some highly place political personalities that are benefiting from this cycle of violence.

This cycle of violence should be handled with all seriousness and with professional methods to resolve the dastardly act of brutality.

A very swift action should be taken stop further re-occurrence of this nasty cycle of killing and counter killings.
