How Gunmen Raze Imo Police Station, Kill Police Officer, Break DPO’s Head

Gunmen have attacked and burnt the Divisional Police Headquarters in Arondizuogum Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State.

 

The attack, which was carried out at about 2am on Tuesday, left one of the police officers on duty dead.

 

Sources in the community disclosed that the attack left the Divisional Police Officer of the Division with a broken head after he was attacked by the invaders.

 

Also, a Sienna vehicle attached to the division and DPO’s personal vehicles were vandalized by the gunmen.

 

 

 

“Gunmen have attacked the Arondizuogu Divisional Police Headquarters. They burnt and killed one of the police officers. They attacked at the odd hours and left the DPO with a broken head. They gave him machete cuts and vandalized his Jeep and a police Sienna vehicle belonging to the division,” a source who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent.

 

 

 

The police spokesperson for the command, Michael Abattam, confirmed the attack to our correspondent in a text message, adding that the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an investigation into the attack.

 

The police spokesperson wrote: “Yes. The CP is on his way there.”
